Procuarement categories are established according to various parameters, including the potential impact on the environment and society of supplier activities and of the products/services supplied throughout their life cycle.

To contribute to the growth of suppliers/sub-suppliers involved by devising and implementing ongoing improvement actions and programmes, establishing long-lasting and mutually beneficial cooperation with them. This is one of the objectives pursued by Telecom Italia.

Activities intended to verify the CSR performance of common suppliers and sub-suppliers continued in the framework of the initiative launched at the end of 2009 by Telecom Italia, Orange and Deutsche Telekom. The checks involved a total of 540,000 workers.

Since its renewal as of October 2013, plans were made to maintain the Quality Management System certification for Supply Chain activities included among Business Support Office responsibilities for 2015 as well.

The new Supply Chain CSR improvement process was implemented using a more comprehensive systematisation of assessment criteria during the qualification, incoming quality and vendor rating elements.

For the eighth year running, the Group's main suppliers were involved in the satisfaction survey relating to the Purchasing Area and Telecom Italia in general. The survey involved 1,240 suppliers operating via the Vendors Hub. The percentage of respondents – 54.9% - was higher than recorded for previous editions.
