The Community

The Telecom Italia Group companies intend to contribute to the prosperity and growth of Communities by delivering efficient and technologically advanced services.
In this context, research and innovation are considered to be priorities for growth and success.

The Telecom Italia Group calculates its contribution to the community according to the guidelines set by the London Benchmarking Group, an association that represents the global benchmark for rating the voluntary contribution made to communities by companies.
The contributions made in 2014, which amount to around 23 million euros, are subdivided into three categories: donations, investments in the community, and initiatives for the community.

Telecom Italia Foundation

The Telecom Italia Foundation is to promote the culture of digital change and innovation, promoting integration, communication, economic and social growth. Its initiatives are primarily focused on three areas: assistance for the least protected and otherwise disadvantaged population bands and categories; education, training and research; protection and enhancement of the historical and artistic heritage.

Fund raising in the digital era

At the end of 2014, the WITHYOUWEDO fundraising platform, was launched to receive requests for donations from public and private entities intending to implement projects in the fields of social innovation, environmental protection and digital culture. Telecom Italia, in addition to providing the technological and communication support of the platform, undertakes to make a contribution to fund 9 projects.

Smart applications

Telecom Italia has directed the end-to-end design and implementation of mobile solutions for EXPO 2015 with a smart city app prototype for Expo 2015 and an app for the "Padiglione Italia" (the Italian Pavilion). The smart city app provides information, services and entertainment during the event using LTE broadband connectivity.

Solutions for "Scuola 3.0"
("School 3.0"): SOCIETY

SOCIETY (SOCIal Ebook communiTY) is the multidevice collaborative reading tool with which Telecom Italia is supporting young people affected by specific learning difficulties (SLDs). Feedback from teachers and students during the trials held in a number of schools across Italy and specific interviews with students affected by SLDs, allowed the tool to be redesigned to make it simpler and more interactive.
